About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a pivotal role in the establishment of a modern insurer with a focus on scalable profitability and innovative financial strategies. The CFO will be the principal financial advisor, responsible for the entire finance end-to-end process, including statutory and GAAP reporting, audit and control environments, and compliance with insurance tax regulations. This executive will also lead capital planning, oversee the investment portfolio, and develop the operating model for the finance function. A key aspect of the role is to translate financial data into strategic insights, pressure-test growth strategies, and work closely with the board and executive team to guide financial decisions. The ideal candidate for the CFO position at the company will have a background in senior finance leadership within a life and health insurance environment. They must be confident in statutory reporting and capital requirements, with a proven track record of managing a high-quality close, reporting, and audit process. Hands-on experience in insurance tax strategy and compliance, as well as strong judgment in capital planning and growth-to-profitability paths, is essential. The CFO should also have a working fluency in reinsurance and experience in structuring treaties, and a history of overseeing general account investments with sound governance. The role requires a leader who can build and scale a finance function, including systems, processes, and teams, and who is adept at managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
