Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Oncology (Med/Surg) position on a night shift schedule, requiring at least 1 year of oncology experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

• Acute Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM
• Weekend availability required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical/surgical oncology or a related nursing specialty
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers on care plans and available resources
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Candidates who have previously worked at any CHRISTUS Health facility in a non-travel capacity must have been separated for at least 6 months before being considered for this travel assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate — this position does not explicitly state locals are accepted
