Senior CAD Designer

Sr. Mechanical Designer - SolidWorks, CADBased in Woburn, MA, we are an industry leader manufacturing highly engineered electro-mechanical products for customers operating in technology-driven and industrial markets.We're seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the design and development of complex electro-mechanical products from concept through production. This role will work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams to create detailed designs, assembly models, and production documentation while ensuring products meet performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost objectives.Role and Responsibilities:Develop detailed mechanical and electro-mechanical designs using SolidWorks from concepts, sketches, specifications, customer drawings, and engineering requirementsCreate complex assembly models and production-ready design packages for manufactured productsDesign sheet metal enclosures, assemblies, and supporting mechanical componentsDevelop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), part structures, and engineering documentationCreate detailed manufacturing drawings with proper dimensioning and tolerancingCollaborate with engineering teams to evaluate design alternatives, manage trade-offs, and reduce technical riskInvestigate manufacturability, material availability, tolerance stack-ups, serviceability, and cost considerationsSupport new product development activities from concept through production releaseAssist with prototype builds, design updates, engineering changes, and production support activitiesWork with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to resolve build issues and implement design improvementsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and support engineering documentation standardsProvide ongoing support throughout the product lifecycle, including production and sustaining engineering activitiesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline preferred, or equivalent directly applicable experience3+ years of hands-on CAD design experience using SolidWorksExperience creating models and drawings for complex mechanical assembliesExperience designing sheet metal enclosures and fabricated components preferredUnderstanding of mechanical assemblies, hardware selection, fittings, tubing, and related componentsExperience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)Familiarity with PLM systems and MRP/ERP software; Oracle Cloud experience is a plusStrong technical problem-solving and risk assessment capabilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with refrigeration systems, fluid systems, or electro-mechanical products is a strong plusAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environmentBenefitsBase Salary Between $85-95k + Bonus PotentialExcellent Benefits Package (Medical/Dental/Vision, Retirement Savings Options, etc.)Flexible Vacation/Paid Time OffWork/Life Balance
