Senior Behavioral Health Unit RN

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.

The Senior Behavioral Health Unit RN is responsible for providing behavioral health evaluations of assigned patients while planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care. This role includes assisting nursing peers and physicians during examinations and procedures, conducting various patient tests, and administering medications within the RN scope of practice. The RN will promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families about their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

• Conduct behavioral health evaluations and document care plans.
• Assist nursing peers and support physicians during patient care.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests per RN regulations.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and self-care.
• Promote patient independence through goal setting and education.

• 1+ year of experience as an RN in a Senior Behavioral Health or gero psych unit.
• Current BLS certification.
• De-escalation certification (SAMA or CPI) required; willingness to obtain SAMA training during orientation if necessary.
• Recent experience (within the last year) in an acute care hospital setting is required.
