Job Overview The Sales and Service Banker serves as a trusted advisor to customers, building strong, long‑lasting relationships by understanding their financial needs and goals. The role involves providing tailored solutions for banking, lending, and investment products while delivering exceptional customer service, minimizing risk, and defending against fraud. Responsibilities Meet the financial needs of customers, including transactional, servicing, and product requirements. Identify opportunities to grow banking relationships through branch activities such as calls, transactions, account support, portfolio management, and partner referrals. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions. Collaborate with team members and partners to achieve branch goals and drive overall performance. Ensure an elevated customer experience, delivering personalized, seamless, and attentive service. Foster customer loyalty by addressing concerns and providing timely resolutions. Engage customers with digital platforms to enhance interactions and educate them on self‑service options. Communicate clearly and effectively with customers in person, over the phone, or through digital channels. Perform teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Handle cash and maintain accurate cash drawer balances. Assist with custodianship, audits, and other operational tasks. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to risk and fraud defense. Allocate time to each core responsibility as needed based on branch requirements. Support nearby branch locations as business necessity dictates. Qualifications 12+ months of experience selling products and/or services (or 6+ months of experience in Retail Banking sales, financial services sales, or consultative relationship sales, with proven success in establishing new customers and deepening relationships). 6+ months of demonstrated successful Santander experience related to the essential functions and responsibilities of the Sales and Service Banker role, endorsed by District Executive, District Operations Manager, and Region President. 6+ months of customer service experience within a high‑volume, fast‑paced, constantly changing environment. 6+ months of cash handling experience. Established relationship‑building skills focused on customer experience and loyalty. Excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping others. Ability to learn and apply sales techniques to recommend products and services that meet customer needs. Experience in cross‑selling products and services. Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment. Excellent communication, consultative, and influence skills both verbal and written. Ability to display a credible, trustworthy, and professional image at all times. Proficient in using digital tools and technology to enhance customer engagement. Ability to follow directions, policies, and procedures. Ability to identify and elevate concerns of risk to appropriate channels. Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Computer proficiency and basic math skills. Ability to work branch hours, including weekends and evenings. Education High school diploma or GED – required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education – preferred.
