Senior NetIQ/OpenText Systems Engineer

CrossTech is seeking a Senior OpenText / NetIQ Systems Engineer to support enterprise OpenText, NetIQ, Microsoft Windows Server, and Azure environments. This role will augment an existing server team and provide advanced technical support for project work, day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, updates, documentation, knowledge transfer, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with legacy Novell/NetIQ/Micro Focus/OpenText infrastructure products, strong Microsoft Windows Server and Azure experience, and the ability to become productive quickly in a client environment.
The ideal candidate will:

• Support OpenText and NetIQ platforms including eDirectory, IDM, OES, iPrint, Filr, NAM, Secure Login, PAM/PUM, SSPR, and Zenworks
• Troubleshoot, update, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems
• Support Microsoft on-premises and Azure environments
• Create detailed infrastructure documentation, systems diagrams, and architectural assessments
• Support audit, compliance, disaster recovery, and operational documentation needs
• Serve as an SME and technical thought leader for internal IT/server teams
• Provide OpenText/NetIQ knowledge transfer and training as needed
• Support and/or lead proof-of-concept efforts
• Provide after-hours support when required

Job Description

• Support, update, and troubleshoot OpenText and NetIQ products including eDirectory, Identity Manager, Open Enterprise Server, iPrint, Filr Standard, Privileged Account Manager for Workstation, Secure Login, NetIQ Access Manager, Self-Service Password Reset, and Zenworks.
• Provide support, updates, and troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft on-premises infrastructure, Azure services, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Augment the existing server team by supporting both project work and day-to-day operational tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving identity, access, file services, print services, endpoint management, workstation privilege, secure login, access management, and hybrid infrastructure technologies.
• Create and maintain highly detailed infrastructure documentation, including systems diagrams, architecture assessments, support documentation, audit documentation, compliance documentation, and disaster recovery documentation.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and technical thought leader for internal Information Services team members.
• Provide knowledge transfer, technical guidance, and training related to OpenText and NetIQ products.
• Support and/or lead proof-of-concept efforts involving OpenText, NetIQ, Microsoft on-premises, Azure, identity, access, endpoint, and infrastructure technologies.
• Participate in out-of-hours support, maintenance windows, troubleshooting, updates, upgrades, and planned project activities as required.
• Become operationally productive within 4 weeks of project kickoff.
• Ensure documentation and deliverables are clear, accurate, supportable, and suitable for operational, audit, compliance, and disaster recovery purposes.
• Follow client and CrossTech confidentiality, data protection, access control, and AI/data-handling requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting OpenText, NetIQ, Micro Focus, or legacy Novell enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Certification in one or more of the following product areas: eDirectory, IDM, OES, NAM, iPrint, SSO, PUM/PAM, Filr, Self-Service Password Reset, or Zenworks.
• 7+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Certification with Windows Server platform and Azure.
• Experience supporting Microsoft on-premises and Azure suite technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting experience across identity, access, file services, print services, endpoint management, workstation privilege, secure login, and access management technologies.
• Experience creating infrastructure documentation, systems diagrams, procedures, runbooks, and technical assessments.
• Experience supporting audit, compliance, and disaster recovery documentation requirements.
• Ability to serve as an SME and technical thought leader for internal IT/server teams.
• Ability to support operational tasks, project work, proof-of-concept initiatives, and after-hours support needs.
• Ability to provide knowledge transfer and training to client IT teams.
• Ability to become productive quickly in a client environment.
• Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior utility, public sector, municipal, or regulated-industry experience.
• Experience supporting environments that transitioned from Novell to NetIQ, Micro Focus, or OpenText.
• Experience with formal IT operations, ticketing, incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Experience with audit readiness, compliance documentation, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure resilience.
• Experience supporting hybrid identity or access management environments.
• Experience augmenting an internal server, infrastructure, or identity management team.
• Philadelphia-area availability preferred, but not required unless client confirms onsite needs.

Compensation
$75-$85/hr W2 | Contract
