Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An immediate opening is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to manage pharmacy operations in a micro-hospital setting. This contract role offers a unique leadership opportunity to oversee all pharmacy functions as the sole pharmacist on-site in a specialized environment.
Location: Menomonee, WI
Schedule:
- Day shift, Monday through Friday
- 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Manage inpatient pharmacy services including audits, medication restocking, and order verification
- Support pharmacy operations within a 7-bed emergency department and 8-bed inpatient micro-hospital
- Utilize the Epic order entry system and Omnicell pharmacy automation for daily tasks
- Participate in on-call rotation to support pharmacy needs during off-hours
- Collaborate remotely with the local PIC and Pharmacy Director for training and guidance
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin pharmacist licensure
- Proven inpatient pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulatory compliance and controlled substance protocols
- Ability to work independently as the only pharmacist on site
- Familiarity with Epic and Omnicell systems preferred
This role involves both staff pharmacist and PIC responsibilities, with no sterile compounding involved. The contract is expected to begin as soon as possible and continue for approximately 2 to 3 months.
