No existing book of business is required to apply: Senior Associates are developed and mentored from within, while Lateral Partners who already carry a portable book simply join at a different level. The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced business attorney with a strong M&A background, including deal structuring, buy-side and sell-side transactions, due diligence, purchase agreements, and closing mechanics, who also brings skill in business/tax structuring, entity formation, and commercial contracts. This attorney should be growth-minded, with the drive to build (or continue building) a robust practice supported by a team of attorneys and legal and administrative professionals.

Depending on experience and portable book of business, this role can be structured as a Senior Associate (mentored within the firm in building a practice that affords operational and financial flexibility) or a Lateral Partner (leveraging Freeman Lovell's referral network and resources to grow an existing practice).

Key Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Senior Associate track: minimum 5 years of business transaction / M&A experience
• Lateral Partner track: minimum 7 years of experience and a portable, annual book of business of at least $100,000 in business/M&A transactions
• Utah bar license, or eligibility for admission to the Utah bar by motion, required for both tracks
• Working knowledge of the M&A deal lifecycle: LOIs, due diligence, purchase agreements (APA/SPA), disclosure schedules, and closing
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills
• A track record of initiative, integrity, and success working in a remote environment
