Forklift Operator - 2nd shift - $23.75 +*

Hours between 6p-6a will receive an extra $1.50/hr. Duties and Responsibilities Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to handle incoming and outgoing materials and products. Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, and shelves using the forklift. Transport materials to designated storage areas or production lines as per work orders or instructions. Conduct pre‑operational checks on the forklift to ensure proper functioning. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the forklift to prevent accidents or injuries. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by recording incoming and outgoing materials. Perform periodic physical counts of inventory, reconcile discrepancies, and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies. Support warehouse operations by picking, packing, and labeling as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and efficient workflow. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to promote a safe working environment. Handle materials and products with care to prevent damage or contamination, especially in a food manufacturing environment. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. Report any quality issues, safety hazards, or non‑compliance incidents to supervisors immediately. Display flexibility to work overtime and non‑standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements High school diploma or GED. Previous experience working in food manufacturing or a similar production environment (preferred). Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Familiarity with food safety regulations (FSA, USDA) and quality assurance practices (GMPs). Ability to obtain forklift certification. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to forklift operation. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as required; able to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Position requires the ability to stand, walk around the office, warehouse, and plant, and perform kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis. Exposure to environmental hazards such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, poor lighting, noise, vibration, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity; familiarity with the risks associated with mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, and communicable diseases.
