Job Summary TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Childress, Texas. Travel Details Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Requirement: 1-2 years recent acute care experience Employment Type: Travel Job ID: TotalMed Travel Job ID #1410660 Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. Perform ongoing assessments and administer appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients’ families. Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients. Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment. Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs. Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient. Educate patients on surgical procedures. Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician. Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, stoop without difficulty, and lift up to 20 pounds regularly; may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times. Work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative. Requirements BLS certification, 2 years experience. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
