Position Summary The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a free resource available to help eligible households pay a portion of winter heating bills regardless of how they heat their home. WCAC's HEAP program serves households throughout Worcester County. WCAC seeks to hire and train a full time Intake Specialist responsible to gather applicant information to process the completion and accuracy of the HEAP applications. Requirements Qualifications Research shows that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. High School Diploma or GED/HISET equivalent required; an associate degree preferred. Ability to handle incoming and outgoing calls for the agency and to greet clients and visitors. Strong communication skills and experience dealing with customers in person preferred. Strong organization skills, attention to detail is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required. Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new software, databases, and technology. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; occasionally move about the office to access files, equipment, or other workspaces; and occasionally lift or carry items up to 50 lbs. Must be able to operate standard office technology including a computer, telephone, multifunction printer, and other devices and software systems required to perform job duties. Ability to speak Spanish or other languages, a plus. Other Requirements May be asked to work extended hours during the peak of the fuel season.
