Full Job Description

Position Summary
The General Manager drives the retail store business and customer experience to achieve established goals through hands-on leadership and contributions. The Store Manager plans and directs the daily operations and develops strategies to elevate the team and retail experience, achieve all store goals, and drive profitability. This role will ensure the execution of company and OCM policies, procedures, and retail initiatives while remaining highly focused on nurturing talent and building capabilities within the team. The Store Manager is committed to maintaining a high standard, ensuring customer brand loyalty, and achieving financial and operational success.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Oversee all daily store functions including staffing, scheduling, inventory, merchandising, and sales. Manage the store budget and profitability, control costs, and track KPI's to hit performance targets.

Revenue Growth

Implement strategies to increase sales, customer traffic, and average basket size. Use data and market insights to identify opportunities, design promotions, and collaborate with marketing to drive growth while maintaining brand standards.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure strict compliance with OCM regulations and internal SOPs. Maintain all required documentation, reporting, inventory tracking, and all store processes in line with OCM guidelines. Stay informed on new OCM rules and adapt policies to protect our license and customers.

Team Development

Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing team of budtenders and supervisors. Create a culture of accountability, recognition, and growth through regular coaching, feedback, performance evaluations, rewards and advancement opportunities.

Customer Experience

Lead by example on the sales floor as a Flower Daddy brand ambassador. Deliver exceptional service, product knowledge, and professionalism. Handle escalated issues with empathy and ensure a consistent, welcoming customer experience.

Operational Excellence

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all areas. Conduct regular audits to identify gaps and implement corrective action. Keep the store compliant, efficient, and visually aligned with brand standards.

Technology and Data Management

Use Sweed POS for transactions and inventory management and KayaPush for HR, payroll, and scheduling. Analyze reports to improve staffing efficiency, compliance accuracy, and overall store performance.

Cross-Department Collaboration

Work closely with ownership and department leads on marketing, finance, and supply chain. Manage vendor relationships, deliveries, and merchandising to ensure stock availability and compliance alignment.

Community and Brand Engagement

Represent Flower Daddy in the community through events, education, and partnerships that promote responsible cannabis use and strengthen the brand's local presence.

About You
You are 21 years or older and authorized to work in a licensed New York cannabis dispensary.

NY Cannabis retail experience is required. And you have at least 5 years of any retail management experience, ideally leading multi-staff or multi-department teams.

You are a strong leader and communicator with proven ability to motivate and develop teams. You understand retail operations, compliance, and financial management.

You are tech-savvy and comfortable using modern retail systems like Sweed and KayaPush. You have a compliance-first mindset, are detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
