Fleet Manager/Diesel Mechanic

Fleet Manager/Diesel Mechanic - Full-Time | $34.00-$48.00/hr (Hourly, OT-eligible) Paramount Communications, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Manager/Diesel Mechanic to support our fleet and field operations. This role is critical in keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime, and supporting our crews in the field.

• Manage a repair facility for the internal needs of a local utility contractor Assist in the diagnosing, repair, and maintenance of heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues independently
• Support field service calls and emergency repairs as needed
• Maintain shop schedule & prioritize repair needs based on the companies needs
• Assist with DOT-related fleet maintenance and compliance
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure equipment is operating safely
• Keep the shop and work areas organized, clean, and safe

• Strong mechanical background with experience in heavy equipment and/or diesel repair
• Ability to diagnose issues across hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems
• Experience managing other shop employees
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with both equipment and fleet vehicles (preferred)
• Experience with Microsoft based software programs
• Willingness to support field repairs when needed
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record (CDL preferred, but not required)
• Fabrication & welding experience is preferred, but not required
