Registered Nurse - Radiology

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse in Radiology provides specialized nursing care focused on imaging procedures such as CAT Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine/PET. The role involves delivering safe, evidence-based patient care through assessment, planning, and intervention in a clinical imaging environment.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients and assist physicians with diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient assessments and diagnostic needs.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessments, focusing on physiological, psychological, and cognitive status.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
• Document nursing care, patient responses, and clinical observations according to standards and priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in imaging procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of two years of nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably with radiology experience.
• Possess an ASN degree; BSN preferred.
• Maintain NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• Demonstrate proficiency in IV insertion, port access, and managing allergic reactions.
• Ability to perform thorough, age-appropriate assessments independently.
• Strong communication and patient advocacy skills.
