Area Director of Sales

Western States Lodging & Management is seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Sales to lead revenue generation and sales strategy for a portfolio of hotel properties in Kapolei and the West Oahu market. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality sales leader who enjoys building relationships, developing business, leading teams, and driving measurable results across multiple properties in a dynamic Hawaii market. Personal Time Off (PTO) and Vacation benefits What You’ll Do Drive Revenue & Business Growth Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the Kapolei and West Oahu market Grow occupancy, average daily rate, and overall revenue across assigned hotels Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, group, leisure, government, and extended-stay segments Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, businesses, organizations, and community partners Monitor local market conditions, demand trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities Participate in annual budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning Lead & Support Sales Teams Provide direction, coaching, and support to property-level sales team members Establish clear sales goals and expectations and hold teams accountable for results Support the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of sales talent Share best practices and encourage consistent sales execution across the portfolio Build a positive, collaborative, and results-focused sales culture Track Performance & Improve Results Review weekly and monthly sales activity, pacing, account production, and pipeline performance Analyze sales and hotel performance reports to identify gaps and opportunities Develop action plans to improve production, revenue, and market share Communicate sales results, trends, and recommendations to company leadership Ensure consistent execution of sales standards and strategies across all assigned properties Collaborate Across Departments Partner with General Managers and property teams to align sales strategies with operational goals Collaborate with revenue management and corporate leadership to maximize hotel performance Represent the hotel portfolio throughout the Kapolei, West Oahu, and greater Oahu business community Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, tourism partners, and key accounts Serve as a bridge between corporate leadership and on-property sales teams What We’re Looking For Required: Degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience 4+ years of hotel sales experience, including leadership responsibilities Proven success developing business, growing revenue, and managing key accounts Strong understanding of hotel sales metrics, forecasting, and performance reporting Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple properties Willingness to travel locally throughout the Oahu market Preferred: Experience overseeing sales for multiple hotel properties Experience in the Hawaii hospitality market Familiarity with major hotel brands such as Marriott or Hilton Background in revenue management, business development, or advanced hotel sales training Established relationships within the local corporate, group, tourism, or hospitality community You Know You’re Successful When...
