Senior Software Engineer

We are partnering with a large enterprise organization in Cedar Rapids, IA that is expanding its software engineering capabilities and investing heavily in modern cloud and AI technologies.

We are looking for strong, hands-on Software Engineers who can design, build, and maintain production-grade applications and services. The team is flexible on programming language background—the priority is finding engineers with strong software engineering fundamentals, experience building scalable systems, and exposure to modern cloud environments.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production software applications and services.
• Build scalable backend systems, APIs, integrations, and application components.
• Work across the software development lifecycle, from technical design through deployment and production support.
• Develop solutions using modern object-oriented and application development technologies.
• Build and deploy applications within cloud environments.
• Integrate LLMs, generative AI services, and AI-powered capabilities into existing and new applications.
• Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI to automate workflows and improve internal or customer-facing products.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, troubleshooting, and engineering best practices.
• Help modernize existing systems while contributing to new application development.

• Willing to work fully on-site.
• Interested in a long term, contract-to-hire opportunity.
• Strong professional software engineering experience with one or more modern programming languages or frameworks
• Experience designing and building APIs, backend services, integrations, or distributed applications.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP .
• Experience working with cloud-native services, containers, serverless technologies, or modern deployment environments.
• Integrating LLM APIs into production applications.
• Building secure and reliable enterprise integrations around AI models.
