This position is responsible for the development, enhancement, and support of PACCAR's critical Mainframe applications that enable key Materials and Finance business processes. About the Team

As a Senior Software Developer , you will join PACCAR’s talented Mainframe team, supporting the mission-critical Materials and Finance systems that power the manufacturing, supply chain, and financial operations behind the production of medium and heavy-duty trucks across North America. You will collaborate with business and technology teams to design, develop, and enhance innovative solutions, leverage modern AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and software delivery, and help ensure the reliability and performance of applications that are essential to PACCAR’s continued success.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Partner with business customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend effective technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and support mainframe applications and system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Provide application and system administration support for critical business systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver business value.
• Participate in code reviews, technical analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support production deployments and participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools to improve development efficiency, quality, and operational support processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including application development, scripting, workflow design, and data mapping.
• 5+ years of mainframe experience with COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, CICS and JCL
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, databases, and spreadsheets.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field desired.
