Medical Records Support SpecialistOur clinic is seeking a Medical Records Support Specialist to help us process patient records. In this role, your tasks will involve scanning documents, following up on Plan of Care requests, document routing, etc. You will also respond to release of information (ROI) requests, logging all requests, authorizations, and releases in our system. As part of this role, you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRespond to ROI (release of information) requests for medical recordsValidate requests and authorizations for the release of medical informationProcess and follow up on Plan of Care requestsDocument routingConfirm VA appointmentsFollow all HIPAA regulationsPerform other duties as assignedRequirements and QualificationsA high school diploma or GED certificateMedical records experience preferredKnowledge of medical terminology a plusBasic computer skillsAttention to detailCommunication skillsPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.Job Type: Full-timePay: $21 – $24 per hourBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insurance
