Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, reliable, and fully certified Strength Training Instructor to design and lead high-energy, hour-long group fitness classes. This position is ideal for an experienced fitness professional looking to supplement their schedule with 1 to 2 evening classes per week.
As a 1099 Independent Contractor, you will enjoy the autonomy to bring your unique training style and methodology to our community, developing functional strength routines that challenge and inspire our participants in a safe, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
Class Delivery: Design and execute dynamic, balanced, 60-minute strength training sessions from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on designated weekday evenings.
Instruction & Safety: Provide clear technical cues, demonstrate proper form, and offer real-time corrections to prevent injury and maximize workout efficiency.
Modifications: Offer scalable progressions and regressions to safely accommodate participants of diverse fitness backgrounds and abilities.
Class Management: Arrive 10–15 minutes prior to class time to prepare the studio, verify equipment layout, and engage with arriving participants. Ensure the studio space is left organized and tidy following the class.
Community Engagement: Build a welcoming, positive, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages long-term member retention and consistency.
Required Qualifications
Professional Certification: Must hold a current, nationally recognized fitness certification in Group Exercise or Personal Training (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, AFAA).
Safety Credentials: Valid and active CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Contractor Compliance: Must possess or be willing to obtain a standard professional liability insurance policy (required for all 1099 engagements).
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience coaching group strength, resistance, or functional fitness classes is preferred.
Skills: Exceptional time management, strong vocal projection, and a motivating public presence.

Contractor Relationship Disclosure
This position is classified as a 1099 Independent Contractor relationship. The selected instructor will operate as a self-employed business entity, maintaining responsibility for their own tax obligations, licensing, and professional liability coverage. Class schedules are mutually agreed upon based on facility programming blocks.
