About the Role

A growing professional services firm is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to take ownership of client tax engagements and contribute to a steady, year-round workload. This role is designed for someone who can manage tax work independently, communicate confidently with clients, and support the firm as it expands its tax and assurance services.

The position is well-suited for professionals who value autonomy, sustainable work hours, and exposure to a broad range of client needs rather than narrow task specialization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare complete federal and state tax returns for business and individual clients after receiving organized documentation
• Independently manage assigned client accounts, including follow-ups and clarifying questions
• Respond to client inquiries related to tax filings and general compliance matters
• Handle a blended workload consisting primarily of business-related returns with a portion of individual filings
• Collaborate with firm leadership on workload planning and deadlines
• Assist with tax projections or planning calculations as experience allows
• Support additional accounting or assurance engagements (e.g., compilations or reviews) when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of experience preparing full business tax returns end-to-end
• Experience with federal and state income tax compliance
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial documents and identify follow-up needs
• Clear, professional communication skills for direct client interaction
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Willingness to work in an on-site office environment ( Alpharetta )
• Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, EA, or active interest in pursuing professional licensure
• Experience in small to mid-sized accounting or advisory firms
• Exposure to multiple entity types (e.g., corporations, partnerships, nonprofits)
• Familiarity with common tax preparation, engagement, and document management systems
• Interest in expanding into advisory or planning-oriented work
