Electrical Field Engineer - Industrial

Support the successful execution of construction projects through project planning, technical coordination, and field engineering support. Assist project teams with interpreting designs and specifications, developing work packages, tracking productivity, managing material and subcontractor performance, and resolving technical challenges. Utilize strong analytical, organizational, and electrical construction knowledge to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in proper project planning, developing work packages, and preparing production indicators/benchmarks, and developing the master schedule.
• Interpret design/drawings for crafts installing material. Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors. Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide engineering input to the daily job log.
• Interpret production goals from work packages for craft supervisors, ensuring full understanding to enable daily communication of productivity goals to crews executing the work.
• Verify quantity tracking data and measure productivity.
• Track progress of the major Vendors and Subcontractors to ensure that materials are manufactured and delivered in a timely fashion as not to impact the project schedule.
• Identify, document, and estimate costs of extra work activities, which were not anticipated in the original scope, and provide proper notification and financial reporting of change orders. Establish and maintain a project change order log that ties to the UAR.
• Provide electrical construction technical support including voltage/amps specification, circuitry diagram analysis, and grounding.
• Assist estimating of installation of various electrical systems, equipment selection, and proposal evaluation, requisitioning, and coordinating equipment delivery.
• Interpret electrical design/drawings/circuitry for installing electrical equipment, instrumentation, wiring, control systems including electrical system operations, troubleshooting, and performance testing.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Electrical engineering, Trade School Associates or construction management or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of heavy electrical construction engineering experience to include estimating, cost management, contract and subcontract administration, and project scheduling.
• Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods): engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be willing to travel.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, knowledge, qualifications, and performance. The compensation range for this position is $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 and is exclusive of any other benefit and/or bonus. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued growth.
