Real Estate - Corporate Accounting

Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely accounting, financial reporting, budgeting support, audit preparation, intercompany accounting, treasury support, and month-end close activities for multiple corporate entities. While the role will provide support to property accounting activities as needed, the primary focus is corporate accounting. 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate and property financial statements.
• Record and reconcile corporate cash transactions.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, and month-end closing entries.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Calculate, bill, and monitor monthly management fees.
• Analyze financial results and investigate budget-to-actual variances.
• Assist with annual budgets and forecasting processes.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare audit schedules and support annual audits.
• Process corporate invoices and intercompany allocations.
• Coordinate payroll funding activities and related accounting support.
• Prepare property distributions.
• Serve as backup support for Positive Pay review and payment decisioning processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of accounting experience required.
• Real estate, multifamily, or property accounting experience highly preferred.
• Yardi software experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Based on previous, directly relevant, skill and experience, the base compensation for the role is between $85,000.00 to $95,000.00, and eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus. As a full time employee you can participate in Company health and retirement benefits.
