What This Job Involves

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the facility. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.

• Complete preventive maintenance routines with proper documentation.

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and other components.

• Maintain positive working relationships across the Operations facility.

• Track and maintain department inventory.

• Lift and move up to 49 pounds and stand and walk during shifts of up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment.

• 1+ years of experience performing predictive and preventive maintenance procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.

• 1+ year of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.

• 1+ year of knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.

• Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and applicable safety standards.

• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
   

• Experience with robotic or automated equipment is helpful but not required. ​​​​​​​

Physical Demands

• Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.

• Lift parts and tools weighing an average of 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 49 pounds.

• Dexterity involving eye-hand coordination, foot control (foot pedals), manual tasks (picking, pinching, holding, and grasping), and repetitive wrist flexion and rotation.

• Work in conditions that may include small spaces, dust, fumes and odors, hot and cold temperatures, indoor and outdoor environments, noise, vibration, prolonged standing on concrete, and wet or uneven surfaces.

• Stand and walk on concrete surfaces for shifts of 10+ hours.

• Work at heights.

• Push and pull wheeled equipment and carts weighing more than 100 pounds.

• Maneuver awkward or bulky equipment parts.

• Work in confined or cramped positions under and behind machinery.
