Prep Cook

Looking for a Dish / Prep / Line Cook (15 - 20 hours per week evenings)

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwasher machines or by hand. Ensuring all items are clean and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
• Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the dishwashing area clean and organized, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down counters, and taking out trash.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly checking and maintaining the dishwasher machine and other cleaning equipment. Reporting any malfunctions or issues to the kitchen manager.
• Assisting in Kitchen Prep: Supporting the kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing recipes when needed. Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring cleaning supplies and chemicals, notifying the supervisor when inventory is low, and ensuring proper storage and labeling of chemicals.
• Line Cook: Occasional assistance as line cook during busy service periods. Preps, stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.

• Teamwork: Willingness to assist other kitchen staff and work as part of a team to ensure a smooth kitchen operation.
• Basic Knowledge of Cleaning Standards: Understanding of health and safety regulations related to kitchen hygiene and sanitation.
• Adaptability: Ability to handle various tasks and work in a fast-paced environment with changing demands

  Responsabilidades:

  • Limpieza y Saneamiento: Lavar y desinfectar platos, vasos, cubiertos, ollas y sartenes a mano o en lavavajillas, asegurando que todo cumpla con los estándares de salud y seguridad.
  • Mantenimiento de la Limpieza: Mantener el área de lavaplatos limpia y organizada, incluyendo barrer, trapear, limpiar mostradores y sacar la basura.
  • Mantenimiento de Equipos: Revisar y mantener regularmente el lavavajillas y otros equipos de limpieza, reportando fallas al gerente.
  • Asistencia en Preparación: Apoyar al personal de cocina en tareas básicas como pelar verduras, porcionar ingredientes y preparar ensaladas cuando sea necesario.
  • Gestión de Inventario: Monitorear suministros de limpieza y químicos, notificar cuando el inventario es bajo y asegurar su correcto almacenamiento y etiquetado.

  • Resistencia Física: Capacidad para estar de pie por largos períodos y manejar tareas físicas, incluyendo levantar objetos pesados.

  • Trabajo en Equipo: Disposición para ayudar al personal y colaborar para una operación fluida.
  • Conocimiento Básico de Limpieza: Comprensión de las normas de higiene y sanidad.
  • Adaptabilidad: Habilidad para manejar diversas tareas en un entorno de ritmo rápido.
