Senior Accountant

Seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. After successful onboarding and ramp‑up, employees are eligible to work remotely one day per week . Position Summary The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end and year‑end close activities, preparing financial reports, and partnering with external auditors and CPAs. The ideal candidate is a seasoned accounting professional with strong ERP experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to confidently communicate complex accounting matters with external audit partners. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end/year‑end close processes. Support external audits, reviews, and tax‑related activities by working directly with outside CPAs and auditors. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve accounting processes and internal controls. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Utilize ERP systems to manage accounting operations and reporting. Develop and maintain financial reports using advanced Microsoft Excel functions. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business operations and financial objectives. Required Qualifications Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar accounting role. Experience working with a full‑featured ERP system such as Sage 300, Sage, Epicor, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms. Demonstrated experience working with external auditors and CPAs during audits and financial reviews. Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications CPA certification is highly preferred. Experience in the logistics, transportation, or trucking industry is a plus. Experience with financial reporting, process improvements, and internal controls.
