Montana Ale Works seeking a Beverage Director/Bar Manager to join our team!

Montana Ale Works has been a Bozeman market leader since 2000 in sustainably, locally sourced, craft-made ‘from-scratch’ cuisine, with the highest volume bar sales of local and regional craft beer, state-of-art draft system, and hand-crafted cocktails featuring small batch artisan Montana spirits and in-house infusions.

The Beverage Director/Bar Manager must be a leader, ambassador, change agent, educator, coach, and mentor to our bar and service teams, passing on the specific skills that embody the core values, brand promise and mission of Montana Ale Works. Responsibilities include ensuring an exceptional guest experience through execution of our full food and beverage menu at the bar; working with senior leadership and the Ale Works ownership team to make and execute decisions that impact the financial health of the business and to do so in a way that is aligned with the culture and policies of the company.

Position Summary:

To ensure excellence and profitability of the beverage program by partnering with the ownership group and management team to lead and develop the bar staff to ensure an unparalleled hospitality experience through every step of service.

The Ale Works Beverage Director/Bar Manager must:

• 
  Lead and develop beverage team to Ale Works standards and protocols.

• Provide direction and leadership for all day-to-day beverage operations, including monitoring performance and setting performance standards.

• 
  Stay ahead of beverage trends by researching, vetting, and implementing new ideas with products that help achieve our financial goals.

• Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence & encourage staff.
• Advocate sound financial and business decision-making.
• Lead by example, serving as a role model by demonstrating honesty, integrity and appropriate behaviors at all times.
• Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among bar team.
• Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
• Review staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and be accountable for the profitability of our bar and beverage programs.
• Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees and management team, ensuring employees do the same within the team.

  Enhance the guest bar experience while achieving or surpassing financial goals.
• 
  Ensure all beverage changes are properly executed with communication and education as priorities.
• 
  Ensure POS System, website, and beverage menus are accurate, up-to-date and understood by the team.
• 
  Demonstrating in-depth food, beverage, and service knowledge and staying ahead of trends by continuously seeking out information.
• 
  Establish and maintain positive relationships with local brewers, distillers, and purveyors to ensure cutting edge products and competitive pricing.
• 
  Be constantly developing key employees while seeking out professionals to move our bar and beverage programs forward.
• 
  Ensure that we are complying with all state and federal liquor laws.
  
• 
  Create opportunities for your bar staff to authentically connect with guests in a meaningful way, ensuring memorable experiences and return visits.

  Uphold the enthusiasm that guests and employees have come to expect from a Montana Ale Works experience.

Job Requirements :

• 
  3 + years of high-volume restaurant beverage management experience.
• 
  Working nights & weekends.
• 
  Ability to work up to ten-hour shifts with extensive standing, walking and lifting 30 to 50 pounds.
• 
  Extensive beverage knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails.
• 
  Experience in beverage inventory, ordering, and costing.
• 
  Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• 
  Enthusiasm & passion for hospitality that is willingly shared with team and guests.
• 
  Proactive approach to hiring, training, morale, product & menu development, etc.
•

  Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
