Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Obstetrics Registered Nurse (OB RN) | Mauston, WI 13-Week Contract | Start Date: July 6, 2026 Mile Bluff Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Obstetrics Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Mauston, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for laboring mothers, postpartum patients, newborns, and obstetric emergencies in a fast-paced clinical environment. Schedule: • Night Shift • 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM • 36 Guaranteed Hours Weekly • Four 12-Hour Shifts Per Pay Period • Every Other Weekend Required • Holiday Coverage Required • No On-Call Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care for obstetrical, maternal, postpartum, and newborn patients. • Complete nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor patient progress. • Triage obstetric patients and prioritize care based on clinical needs. • Assess labor progression and assist with inductions and cervical ripening. • Monitor fetal heart tracings and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal status. • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately. • Manage obstetrical emergencies including postpartum hemorrhage, prolapsed cord, breech delivery, uterine rupture, placental complications, and precipitous deliveries. • Assess newborns and identify conditions requiring additional monitoring or intervention. • Perform neonatal resuscitation within certification guidelines. • Monitor newborns for hypoglycemia, hypothermia, jaundice, sepsis, and other complications. • Educate patients and families regarding maternal recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning. • Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. • Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR. Requirements: • Active Wisconsin RN License. • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred. • Current AHA BLS Certification. • Current NRP Certification. • Less than 1 year to experienced OB RN candidates considered. • Strong labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care skills. Preferred Certifications: • STABLE Certification. • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification. Skills & Qualifications: • Knowledge of labor and delivery nursing practices. • Experience with fetal monitoring and newborn assessments. • Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills. • Excellent communication and patient education abilities. • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
