The team you will be a part ofThe Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.This role in summaryTo be successful in this role you will work with our design engineers and various toolshops around the world to lock in a design that meets the needs of the design intent and also meet the needs of the manufacturing plant with regards to standards, expected uptime, etc. Some travel will be required. Your responsibilities will includeLeading projects to specify/purchase new large stamping dies in support of major program launchesLeading changes to existing tools to support cost and quality initiativesCommunicating project updates to all levels of the organization Leading toolshop to provide a design that Transforms print tolerances into a repeatable/robust stamping toolMaintaining/updating/ submitting project documentation for each new tool. e.g. FMEA, NP stores load sheets, Purchased component listing etcMinimum requirements3+ years in tooling spaceManufacturing background preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skillsBachelors Degree in Engineering or related field Preferred skills and experiences5 years manufacturing experienceBackground in leading the implementation of new large metal stamping diesExperience using 3D software e.g. solid works, pro E etcAdditional informationWhirlpool’s Ways of WorkingOur goal is to provide an environment that helps you bring your best to Whirlpool every day.
