Laboratory Technician

Job Summary The Lab Technician works in an accredited commercial laboratory, performing laboratory functions such as preparing media and sample types for analysis, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting customer experience (CX). Essential Functions Follow established SOPs to ensure accurate and timely data reporting. Gather materials needed for sample preparation and analysis. Receive, log, store, and dispose of samples. Prepare necessary standards, solutions, and media for analyses. Set up and operate instrumentation and equipment. Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including glassware cleaning and sterilization. Record observations and data accurately. Maintain up‑to‑date logs, notebooks, and equipment records. Complete administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry into the computerized LIMS. Comply with the Personnel, Safety, and Quality Program. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to work with small vials, test tubes, and delicate equipment. Basic algebraic skills for laboratory calculations. Ability to read and apply established protocols and SOPs. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Regular use of hands to manipulate tools and controls. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting. Regular lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds. Requirements for vision and other sensory abilities as needed for tasks.
