Job Description As a Maintenance Electrician with BW Papersystems, you will assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures across both machinery and facility needs. Day to day, you will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, work on scheduled projects, change out drives and lighting, and perform maintenance on generators, hydraulics, and pneumatics, ordering parts as needed. Job Responsibilities Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues by using hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose malfunctioning systems, isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures across both machinery and facility needs. Perform maintenance on the building, generators, and machines, including changing out drives, lights, and other components as needed. Work on hydraulics and pneumatics. Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures. Mount motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures and complete circuits according to diagram specifications. Research and configure solutions, estimate time and material costs, and requisition necessary parts and supplies. Work on scheduled projects while also responding to immediate equipment needs. Inspect completed work for conformance with local building and safety codes, performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Mentor and provide leadership to peers as needed.
