QA Technician - 2nd Shift

What you may not know is at The Cheesecake Factory Bakery, our staff members are our highest quality ingredient.The Quality Assurance Technician will play a critical role in being responsible for the activities involved in assuring the quality of all raw materials, intermediates and finished products.You'll thrive in this position if you are:Driven by results: you are conscientious and persistent about delivering timely, high quality deliverables and performing all job functions safely while following instructions.Exhaustively meticulous: you have an unrelenting attention to detail, leaving nothing to chance while understanding what deserves your immediate attention and what can wait.Adaptable: you're at ease in a fast-paced environment and able to effortlessly change direction when priorities shift, learning to perform new tasks as required for business needs and work extended hours if necessary.A team player: while you're a capable self-manager, you thrive when you're part of a team and don't mind getting your hands dirty on your own if needed.The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Inspect and evaluate raw materials, packaging materials, intermediate ingredients and finished product to meet company food safety, quality and service objectives.Adhere to specification and work instructions as well as provides input for improvements.Review PQG [product quality guarantee] paperwork for conformity to specifications.Conduct GMP inspections.Conduct pre-operational inspections.Conduct on-shift product review evaluations.Report on quality and food safety non-conformances; escalates issues to the QA Supervisor and/or QA Manager in a timely mannerInitiate and administer quality and food safety holdsAttend and participate in all appropriate meetings (i.e. Quality Huddles, shift handovers, staff meetings, training, etc.)Interact professionally with all other departments (production, receiving, shipping, sanitation, safety and maintenance)Follow all safety procedures in accordance with company requirements and OSHAAssist with new hire onboardingLab Technician duties:Responsible for the inspection and microbiological testing of incoming raw materials, intermediate ingredients and finished product following the respective sampling protocol.Perform gluten-free/allergen testing.Participate in proficiency testing.Qualifications:Minimum 6 months previous QA experience.Knowledge of basic micro techniques (aseptic sampling, dilutions, plating).Good communication skills and ability to read, write and speak English.General Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access).Must be able to work overtime on weekdays and weekends.What we prefer:Experience in Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing environment.Previous QA lab experience.Ability to make laboratory math calculations like concentrations, titrations, etc.Bilingual in English/Spanish.Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related science.Benefits:Medical, Dental & VisionEligible for benefits first day of the month following 60 days of service401K with company match2 weeks of vacation which increases to 3 weeks starting in your 5th yearSick time25%-35% discount when dining as a guestAbout the Company:The Cheesecake Factory Bakery creates over 35,000 delicious cheesecakes per day across our two facilities in Calabasas, CA and Rocky Mount, NC plus other baked products for our restaurants, international licensees, and third-party bakery customers.The Cheesecake Factory Bakery is a subsidiary of The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated.
