QA Precert Technician

The primary duties of this position are to inspect, test, clean, and label industrial Drives, PLCs, HMIs, and General Controls pre-sale.

Essential duties and responsibilities include verifying part numbers on all units processed, inspection, cleaning, and testing of all units, proper use of shop assets and test fixtures, power and diagnostic testing of all units, programming, support quality methods, processes and procedures, support and improve quality of final product, support the development of capabilities, performing occasional light repair, processing of pre-evaluation units to 'RTS' ready to sell condition, proper handling and labeling on all units, capture estimated parts and labor costs for repairs, effective time management and prioritization of work, proper use of IT systems, and provide your own hand/power tools.

May be modified from time to time. Other duties, tasks, and work may be assigned.

Production level metrics performance requirements are defined and tracked on a technician level program. Level 1 is considered an introductory level with the expectation of the technician advancing within a 1-year period.

Levels minimum gross volume produced per month per hour:

Level 1: $50,000/$297.61

Level 2: $110,000/$654.76

Level 3: $175,000/$1,041.66

The actual dollars produced per hour is determined by a very basic math equation, gross dollars produced before parts cost and adjustments divided by total hours worked in payroll systems. It is very important that you maintain this mentioned gross dollars produced per hour over the course of the year.

Periodic aptitude testing both written and technical, must complete a minimum quantity of items monthly, maintain warranty percentage per ISO requirements.

Qualifications include a proven track record in a similar technical environment, understanding the products from a technical background and experience in testing and troubleshooting, strong computer skills, a positive attitude with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, ability to identify needed improvements in existing processes and assist in implementations of changes, willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, if necessary, to complete assignments on schedule and order to meet company goals and objectives, good organizational and communication skills, and ability to evaluate and solve problems as they occur.

Knowledge and skills required include strong computer proficiency, ability to multi-task, ability to work at a fast pace, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and good communication skills.

Education and experience include a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, one to three years technical school diploma or experience preferred, technical or industrial product knowledge a plus.

Physical demands include occasional sitting, reaching/working overhead, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, frequent walking, continuous standing and repetitive hand motion, occasional sitting, reaching/working overhead, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, lifting requirements include frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Work schedule is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Overtime may be required on Saturdays. Adherence to attendance and coverage policies is expected to be followed diligently. Time off will be granted with proper formal notice in accordance with company policy.
