Point Of Sale PositionPerforms all aspects of POS (point of sale) transactions to include cash, credit cards, meal tickets, and promos. May also support the retail food serving duties as needed.Essential Job FunctionsPOS FunctionPerforms and navigates the functions of the POS system.Trouble shoots issues and calls for support as needed.Assists with the training of new register associates.Cash Handling ProceduresPerforms opening and closing POS procedures to include counting till and balancing reconciliation.Pulls end of day sales report and completes shift deposit.Charges customers appropriately for all itemsManages cash transactions promptly and no cash is left unattended.Processes credit card transactions through payment gatewayNotifies supervisor of any difficulties or discrepancies at the registerKeeps receipts of VOIDS with documentationService ExcellencePerforms excellent customer service skills with all customers.Answers questions about café food itemsHandles service recovery immediately or involves supervisor as needed.Receives and distributes all messages in a timely manner.Retail SupportStocks and replenishes areas in the retail setting to include condiments, beverages, and grab and go items.Serves hot food items to customers as needed.Sanitation and RegulatoryPractices good hygiene including hand washing and wearing hair restraints.Uses gloves when serving and preparing food.Properly labels items and discards expired.Stocks items with FIFO guidelinesPerforms routine cleaning assignments.SafetyOperates equipment safely according to manufacturer guidelines.Reports any equipment malfunctions or unsafe working conditions.Other duties as assigned.Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]Required Qualifications/ExperienceMust be 18 years of age.Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in food service, cash handling, retail operations, banks, or restaurants.Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.Preferred Qualifications/ExperienceExperience in Healthcare setting.License, Certification & ClearancesServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred.Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police systemPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).Travel may be expected locally between System locations.Equal Employment OpportunityIndependence Health and its affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
