Date Posted: 10/13/2026 Location: District Office East Closing Date: 10/19/2026 Description 8hrs./day, 12-month calendar 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Effective Date of Employment: ASAP Application Deadline: October 19, 2026 4:00 p.m. Qualifications Graduate of a technical school vehicle maintenance program or 1-year experience in truck or heavy equipment repair. Ability to use computer to complete various maintenance and repair functions. CDL with proper class and/or endorsements to tow large vehicles within 12 months of hire date preferred. CDL with proper class and/or endorsements to drive a school bus within 3 months of hire date. Responsibilities Performs rebuild and/or repair of all chassis, body and engine/drive train components on a variety of vehicles, including but not limited to, cars, trucks and school buses. Performs all necessary functions to maintain a successful vehicle preventive maintenance program. Successfully uses technology to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and record various maintenance functions and information. Properly complete all required documentation for accurate recording of parts, labor and work orders. Successfully and properly use an acetylene torch and arc welder. Troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle problems. Comply with safety/health rules and to use proper protective equipment. Responsible To Coordinator of Transportation Compensation / Benefits Without a Class A CDL License: $31.89 - $33.14 Hourly With a Class A CDL License: $35.20 - 36.52 Hourly If benefit eligible, benefits are available to new employees effective the first day of active employment.
