Urology Advanced Practice Provider (per diem)

Overview Hoag Health is seeking a per diem Urology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Newport Beach, California. The position supports Hoag Urology Center in providing urology care with an established program. Responsibilities Inpatient role: rounding on admitted patients, supporting discharges, coordinating plan of care for patients, providing information to patients and their families, providing clinical oversight to nursing staff, and updating Urologists. Function within the full scope of licensure; assess, coordinate delivery and evaluation of care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. Provide medical consultation including the performance of therapeutic procedures delegated by the supervising physician, assist with various procedures, provide patient education, treatment and follow-up; may complete daily rounds using a multidisciplinary approach for continuity of care. Follow ambulatory care and inpatient standardized procedures, protocols, policies and procedures. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years experience as a Urology PA or NP REQUIRED Demonstrated knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique relative to operative procedures wherein the PA assists Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program Demonstrates knowledge of patient care guidelines/policy as evidenced by quality of documentation Medical knowledge and skills applicable to perform within the scope of practice Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology Working knowledge of electronic health records such as EPIC Active CA PA license or ability to obtain CA PA license Benefits Comprehensive benefit package: medical, dental, vision, PTO, retirement (401k with a match) CME stipend of 2,000 annually Malpractice coverage provided Hoag qualifies for public student loan forgiveness #J-18808-Ljbffr Hoag Health System
