Clinical Director (LICSW or LMHC)

Location: DYS-Paul T. Leahy Center 363 Belmont Street Worcester, MA 01604, USA Justice Resource Institute (JRI) supports the Department of Youth Services (DYS) by placing qualified Clinical Directors and Clinicians in their Northeast, Central, and Southeast programs. This position is based at the DYS Paul T. Leahy Center in Worcester, MA . This Clinical Director position provides clinical leadership at the Central Region Reception Center (CRRC) . The CRRC is a community-based option for low-risk detained youth of all genders, where youth are placed in foster homes with community support from staff at the Reception Center. Compensation The pay for this position is $87,651 per year . The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future. Schedule: This position requires in-person attendance from Monday to Friday, with hours available either from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM or from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. What You'll Do The Clinical Director at the CRRC is responsible for overseeing clinical services, and, as needed, at the Worcester County Overnight Arrest Unit. In conjunction with the Program Director and Assistant Program Director, the Clinical Director conducts intake screenings of youth to determine the appropriateness of placement at a community-based option. Once youth are placed at the CRRC, the Clinical Director monitors their clinical well-being through in-person sessions, engagement with parents/guardians, collaboration with CRRC foster parents, and communication with the youth’s school, DCF Social Worker, Probation Officer, DYS Detention Diversion Specialists, and other involved agencies. The Clinical Director is also responsible for assessing suicide risk of CRRC youth and serves as a liaison with emergency mental health services for youth requiring screening for acute psychiatric hospitalization. In addition to the above duties, the CRRC Clinical Director may complete Court-ordered 68A Evaluations, provide clinical licensure supervision to clinicians on the Leahy campus, engage in trainings, and provide guidance to CRRC staff. When necessary, the Clinical Director may be asked to oversee clinical services for detained youth at the Central Reception Intake (CRI) program, including temporary detention placement for girls. The Clinical Director is responsible for supporting the clinical needs of youth including daily assessment and check-ins, or therapeutic programming when appropriate. Requirements Must be 21 years or older. Current/active MA LICSW or MA LMHC. At least three years post-licensure experience preferred. At least two years of supervisory experience preferred. At least one year clinical supervisory experience. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply. Must be flexible to meet the needs of youth and families; ability to work late afternoon/evening hours as needed. Acceptable driving record and state/federal background checks. Candidates must have experience working with adolescents and their families, expertise in suicide risk assessment, knowledge in case conceptualization, and crisis stabilization and management. Knowledge of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and other cognitive-behavioral therapies; comprehensive training in DBT will be offered.
