Overview Plaintiff Personal Injury Associate Attorney (5–8YOE) – Teaneck, NJ (Hybrid). Salary: $100,000–$190,000 per year. The firm is a well‑established midsized plaintiff PI practice with roots going back to the early 1980s. It has a long‑standing focus on representing injured individuals and currently has 28 injury lawyers, including 13 NJ Supreme Court–certified civil trial attorneys. The practice operates from multiple offices in New Jersey and has a presence in New York City. Practice focus: Plaintiff‑side personal injury with high‑volume and serious injury matters. The firm represents clients on a plaintiff‑side only basis with a mission‑driven, contingency results focus. It provides a certified civil trial team for trial work, an established pipeline, and infrastructure across the New Jersey and NewYork markets. Responsibilities Run files with increasing independence—comfortable taking depositions, managing discovery, working up damages, and driving cases toward resolution (and trial when needed). Manage a plaintiff personal injury caseload from intake through resolution (pre‑suit and litigation matters, depending on need). Draft and argue motions (dispositive and non‑dispositive), handle written discovery, and manage case strategy. Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, treating physicians, and experts as appropriate. Lead settlement negotiations and prepare for and attend mediations and settlement conferences. Prepare for trial: exhibit and witness preparation, outlines, subpoenas, trial binders, coordination of experts, and support the trial team as needed. Communicate with clients regularly: updates, expectation setting, medical treatment tracking, damages development, and lien coordination (as applicable). Qualifications 5+ years of experience in plaintiff personal injury (required). NJ bar admission in good standing; NY admission is a plus. Proven experience with litigation workflow: discovery, motion practice, depositions, and negotiations. Strong writing skills for motions, briefs, and demand packages and a confident courtroom presence. Able to work semi‑autonomously with solid judgment, organization, and urgency. Nice‑to‑Haves Experience with catastrophic injury, complex auto/trucking, premises, product liability, or medical‑malpractice exposure. Meaningful deposition volume and/or first‑chair trial exposure (even if limited). Comfort working in a metro NY/NJ environment (venue familiarity across the region is helpful).
