Survey Crew Chief - Greenville, SC

Sparta Networking is supporting a leading construction company in hiring an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support land surveying operations in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on overseeing field survey activities, ensuring accuracy, and supporting project layout and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise survey crew members in daily field operations
• Perform construction layout, boundary, and topographic surveys
• Operate and maintain survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and data collectors
• Ensure accuracy of measurements and data collection
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field crews
• Maintain field notes, records, and survey documentation
• Train and mentor junior survey team members
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

• Experience as a Survey Crew Chief or similar leadership role in surveying
• Strong knowledge of surveying methods, equipment, and layout procedures
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
• Experience with GPS and total station equipment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed

Work Environment

• Physically demanding role, including walking long distances, lifting up to 60 lbs, and working on uneven terrain
• Exposure to outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather
• Use of PPE required
