Senior Litigation Counsel

Senior Litigation Counsel Hybrid position available in Wilmington, DE, reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel. The Senior Litigation Counsel will manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution matters that impact the company, serve as a strategic advisor to business units, coordinate with outside counsel, and provide proactive risk‑mitigation guidance. Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of pending and threatened litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations. Advise executive leadership and business units on litigation risks, strategies, and exposure. Develop and implement litigation strategies, including settlement of matters when appropriate, with input and approval from legal management and business leaders. Select and engage outside counsel. Review pleadings and discovery responses, supervise outside counsel, ensure effective case management, and appropriately manage legal expenses. Represent the company in settlement negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings as needed. Provide legal advice, guidance, and training to internal corporate clients on legal and risk issues related to long‑term strategy and day‑to‑day operations. Oversee the internal discovery process. Track significant legal developments, emerging risks, and relevant regulatory changes. Prepare litigation reports and updates for management and the board of directors. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in at least one state. Litigation experience involving toxic tort matters or working within a chemical, industrial, or heavy manufacturing business. Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to balance legal risks with business objectives. Experience managing outside counsel and controlling legal expenses. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 8 years’ litigation experience at a large law firm and/or the law department of a major corporation.
