The Contra Costa Health Department currently has a great career opportunity to fill one (1) vacant Orthopedic Technician position to support our ortho, plastic, and podiatry providers. This position’s home location is located at the Martinez Health Center and will need to travel to two other clinics to see patients. The other two clinics are Pittsburg Health Center and West County Health Center. Contra Costa Health is an integrated system of healthcare services that covers health at every level: the individual, the family, and the community. For low-income and uninsured residents of Contra Costa County, Contra Costa Health is the safety net, providing medical services not available to them elsewhere. Minimum Qualifications License Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License will be accepted during the application process. Certificates: Possess and maintain throughout the duration of their employment: a valid Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate issued by the American Heart Association. Applicants are required to attach a copy of their license to their application. Education: Graduation from high school, G. E. D. equivalency or California High School Proficiency Certificate. Experience: Six months of full-time experience in the application and removal of casts in a hospital, clinic or medical office setting, working directly in the treatment of orthopedic patients. Substitution: A valid Orthopaedic Technologist Certification issued by the National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists (NBCOT) OR completion of an Orthopedic Technician training program meeting the minimum standards set by the National Association of Orthopaedic Technologists (NAOT) may be substituted for the required experience. Training & Experience Evaluation: Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will have their training and experience evaluated.
