In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems to guarantee they operate flawlessly when needed. Responsibilities:

• Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems, including proprietary control panels and sensors, ensuring all components meet building code requirements and NFPA standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with fire codes and regulations.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and engineering diagrams related to fire alarm system design and installation.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues using electrical experience, engineering troubleshooting techniques, voltmeters, power tools, and hand tools.
• Perform system upgrades or modifications based on client needs or regulatory updates; document all work thoroughly.
• Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure proper integration of fire alarm systems with sprinkler systems and low voltage wiring.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions, conducting training sessions, and addressing client concerns promptly.

Skills:

• Programming experience with commercial fire alarm will move you to the front. Experience w/ Simplex is a major major plus.
• NICET II is preferred but not mandatory. The company will pay for your certifications.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, electrical blueprints, and construction drawings accurately.
• In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems, sensors, proprietary control panels, and NFPA standards related to fire safety.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience for system installation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with building code compliance requirements for fire alarms and sprinkler systems.
• Proficiency in using field service tools such as voltmeters, power tools, and hand tools.
• Experience in fire alarm system maintenance, inspection procedures, and service technician roles.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
