Position Overview
Lunch/Recess Monitors report directly to the building Principal and are responsible for supporting the daily management of student safety in the cafeteria, playground, and other designated areas.
Compensation:
- $17.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise students during lunch periods.
Assist in supervising students on the playground and/or designated recess areas.
Work in both outdoor environments and standard school settings.
Ensure established rules are followed; report concerns to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Monitor orderly dismissal and arrival procedures.
Assist students during lunchtime, including food purchases, distribution, cleanup, and ensuring proper handwashing.
Maintain cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Adhere to the West Irondequoit Central School District Code of Conduct at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address daily situations.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with district policies, laws, and regulations.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
