WHAT WILL YOU DO AS AN ECHOCARDIOGRAPHYTECHNICIAN

The Echocardiography Technicianperforms accurate adult echocardiographic exams stress echos and transesophageal ultrasound studies on inpatients and outpatients. The position requires initiative and judgment utilizing ultrasound equipment for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Must work closely with the physicians and be able to detect abnormalities in the exams and report the findings to the nurse or physician as needed.
• Maintain department supplies and perform tasks necessary to insure the performance of the ultrasound and workstation equipment
• Work closely with students from ultrasound programs from various colleges to aid in their clinical instruction.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE AN ECHOCARDIOGRAPHYTECHNICIAN

Requirements:

Associates degree in a Medical Science fieldRequired .

Three (3) years experience in ultrasound or come from an accredited ultrasound school and be registered or registry

Obtain echo certification/registration within one year of employment. Must obtain the credits necessary to maintain their registry status. Required

Salary Range: $36.07.50-$54.10 / per hour Pay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
