Oversees the day-to-day accounting of the Tag Office under the authority of the Sedgwick County Treasurer and the Kansas Department of Revenue. Maintains and accounts for all monies within the tag offices. Maintains accurate records of funds, both received and distributed. Provides backup support to both bookkeeping and upper management.

Account for all Tag Office funds

• Maintain accurate records of all money issued
• Count vault daily and order change as needed
• Ensure cash, check, and credit card deposits are accurate
• Complete MOVRS transaction consolidation, generate EFT spreadsheet, and send to tax office for daily transfer of funds to the State of Kansas
• Keep accurate reports of sales tax collected; prepare monthly sales tax report and send to tax office for electronic transfer of funds to the State of Kansas.

Document financial transactions in SAP

• Generate banking report; verify monies deposited into bank account balance what is entered into county financial system by bookkeepers.
• Release refunds and journal entries as needed.
• Assists customers with refund checks
• Balance Liability Accounts

Enter returned checks. Send unpaid checks to collections.

• Make entries into ATCI for all returned checks
• Add exceptions in MOVRS
• Generate and mail letters to customer for collection of returned check
• Send insufficient fund checks to collections

Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Up to two years of experience may be substituted with education that provides applicable knowledge and skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Two years supervisory experience. Two years of experience in governmental accounting and fiscal operations. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, finance, or a related field.
