The Project Controls Manager - Scheduling is responsible for leading the implementation, standardization, and continuous improvement of project controls and scheduling practices across MasTec Industrial operating group. This role provides oversight, training, and governance of scheduling processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effective project performance management across MasTec Industrial.ResponsibilitiesEffectively communicate and coordinate all baseline development steps, reviews and pull planning sessions to all stakeholders internally and externallyProvide management and training schedulers on scheduling and planning functions, processes, tools, procedures and best practicesProvide guidance to project management on schedule analysis, project controls analysis, trends, performance, schedule forecasting, Time Impact Analysis, and scheduling claimsCoordinate resources and participants engaged in scheduling activitiesCompile, review and analyze scheduling related data and interface with upper management and project teams to provide innovative solutions to scheduling performanceLead project reviews on schedule performance, planning, change management, progressing, and proactive reportingDevelop schedule practices and procedures as directedAssist/train project management in use of scheduling/control toolsWorks independently on complex assignmentsCompletes performance reviews and provides personnel development for all schedulers or assigned employeesOther duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experiencePlanning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification and/or Project Scheduling Professional (PSPPMI-SP) certification preferred8+ years of related experience in planning & scheduling on engineering and/or construction projects2+ years of leading scheduling groupsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Take care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principlesHigh proficiency in Microsoft ExcelOrganizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks/assignmentsExceptional team building skills and ability to collaborate with groups throughout the companyExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to appreciate and respectfully debate different points of view and opinionsInfluential and persuasive through communicating value from proposed changesSolutions orientedStrong belief in continuous improvementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to comprehend complex assignmentsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals.Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions.This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements;
