Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Oconomowoc, WI. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, binocular vision assessments, and evaluations for ocular disease. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and managing common ocular conditions, prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, and co-managing surgical cases with ophthalmology partners when appropriate. The Optometrist will provide patient education on eye health, treatment options, and preventive care, while documenting findings accurately in the practice’s records system. The role also involves collaborating with opticians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic flow, delivering a high standard of customer service, and participating in occasional practice meetings or community outreach as needed. Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current (or eligibility for) Wisconsin optometry licensure. Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and management of common ocular diseases. Ability to clearly explain exam findings, treatment plans, and product options to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Comfort working with electronic health records and basic office or diagnostic technologies used in modern optometric practice. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with technicians, opticians, and administrative staff in a team-based environment. Commitment to providing inclusive, respectful, and culturally sensitive care to all patients. Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage patient schedules and documentation efficiently. Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development, including continuing education and learning new clinical techniques or technologies. Previous experience in a private practice or family-oriented optometry setting is preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
