About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience. Patient ratio experience: 5:1. Experience with charting systems, preferably Epic. Travel experience required. Description: Med/Surg/Tele RN needed. The staff nurse is a registered nurse who, as the patient's primary nurse, is responsible for the overall management of nursing care provided. Assures competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge. Ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. Performs disease prevention and restorative measures. Responds to medical and environmental emergencies. May float to other units within the scope of practice. All travel nurses are expected to be flexible with floating to different areas. Travelers can anticipate a notice of 1.5 hours prior to shift start time in most cases. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 25 patients. Unit has 30 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Responsibilities include accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, colostomy/ileostomy management, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin administration, and more. Orientation hours required for compliance. Candidates must provide a complete work history for the past 7 years. Compliance documents are due prior to the start of the position.
