Front Of House Opener / Bakery Associate

The Front of House Opener is responsible for preparing the bakery for daily service, ensuring the space is clean, stocked, and ready for customers. This role sets the tone for the day by delivering excellent customer service and maintaining an inviting atmosphere from the moment doors open. Weekends are required.

Key responsibilities include glazing donuts and assisting with finishing baked goods, preparing frostings, fillings, and toppings as needed, portioning and brewing coffee; preparing basic coffee drinks, assembling and packaging orders, including boxing and labeling products, applying stickers/labels to boxes accurately for orders and inventory, stocking and organizing toppings, supplies, and display items, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining room and front counter, washing dishes and keeping prep and service areas clean, assisting customers with orders, questions, and recommendations, and supporting team members with additional tasks as needed during busy periods.

Requirements include being reliable and punctual (early morning availability is essential), having strong customer service and communication skills, the ability to work independently and stay organized, comfort handling cash and using POS systems, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.

Compensation includes hourly pay ranges from $10$14, based on experience and performance, pooled tips distributed among staff, adding to overall earnings, and opportunities for raises based on reliability, skill development, and performance.

Preferred qualifications include previous experience in a bakery, caf, or food service environment and barista experience is a plus.

This position ensures the bakery opens smoothly every day. A strong opener keeps operations running efficiently, creates a welcoming environment, and directly impacts the customer experience from the first interaction.

This team member position is a physically demanding position. The employee will be on their feet for most of the shift and are expected to lift heavy objects.
