Nurse Practitioner / NP Responsibilities in Your Role Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, order diagnostic tests, and develop personalized care plans tailored to individual needs. Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses either in collaboration with physicians or independently, depending on your credentials. Empower patients and families through education on wellness, disease prevention, and effective disease management strategies. Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with your established scope of practice. Engage in patient follow-up and chronic care management for a holistic approach to healthcare. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless and integrated care across the board. Detail patient interactions thoroughly and accurately within electronic medical records (EMR). Essential Education Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution. Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Necessary Certifications Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Texas. National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty certification. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to secure within 90 days).
