As a Security Officer Patrol Access Control in Roanoke, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and help support a secure environment through visible presence and strong communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter access points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, gates, and other restricted areas, verify credentials and/or access permissions, and report policy violations or maintenance concerns through established procedures.
• Support daily operations at the location by observing equipment areas, noting potential hazards or disruptions, and relaying information to site personnel in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
